The latest series, Digital Street Wall, is available in different formats (60 x 60 x 5 cm, 50 x 50x10 cm, 30cm x 30cm, x10 and x5 cm), all using the same technique described below :
• the starting point is a digital photo (photos taken by the artist) reworked on iPhone and computer;
• the retouched photos are then printed on tracing paper;
• a sheet of Wenzhou paper is glued to the entire surface of a canvas previously treated with white gesso;
• collages of tissue paper (primary colors) as well as recycled paper from posters recovered in the metro are glued to various places on the canvas;
• the photos reworked and printed on tracing paper are arranged and glued on the canvas;
• the canvas is thus ready for work with acrylic paint and highlights with white and black markers.
It is almost an expressionist film atmosphere which is thus restored: in dark frames, worked in a dominant tone (yellow, red or blue) an “apparation” stands out: shadows, dreams, nightmares, silhouettes or human figures, arrested in a gesture, an action, an everyday movement. These are scenes of urban life which bring into existence for a short moment figures which seem to emerge from the shadows, to cross the wall of the non-existent where they will immediately plunge back. Fugitive visions, chance encounters, illusions of life perceived in the daily realities of recognizable urban settings, where solitudes meet which intersect and which each evolve according to a different trajectory. It is precisely a sum of solitudes that the juxtaposition on the same surface of a plurality of urban settings and figures isolated or in small groups shows.
