Double sided, or the side behind the image

The work that I present is based on a technique which brings about a reversal by transferring an image from one medium to another. The support from which I create my work is a photographic image printed on tracing paper and reworked. My creation takes shape from the hidden, empty side which is behind the image. The first act of creation is this action of showing the reverse side of the image: the photo printed on tracing paper is thus stuck upside down on the canvas and my work as an artist consists of making the inverted image reappear. In this change of “face” (front/behind) there is also a change in technique, through the passage of the photo and the imprint left on the canvas.
